Q. Is Microsoft Office available to download for use on personal devices?

Microsoft Office is available for LJMU Staff and Students. The Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) service offers access to Microsoft's online Office applications suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. It also includes the online cloud storage OneDrive for Business.

Microsoft offer Microsoft 365 on up to 5 devices (PC/Mac/Smartphone/Tablet).

Unfortunately, Microsoft 365 and OneDrive, are not available for Collaborative Staff and Students (Partnership Institutions).

Please Note

• As long as you are an LJMU Student or member of Staff you have a free subscription to Microsoft 365.
• Once your account expires you will no longer have access to OneDrive.
• You must copy any files that you need before the expiry of your account as you will NOT be able to access them afterwards.
• Your 5 copies of Office will continue to work for approx. 30 days after your account expires, after which the Microsoft licence will expire and you will have to subscribe to an Microsoft 365 personal account.

How to get started

Login to Microsoft 365, remember to enter USERNAME@ljmu.ac.uk for the username. If logging in on-campus, you will be auto-authenticated and will not be prompted for your password. If logging in elsewhere, you will need to enter your current LJMU password.
