The Academic Success Team can support you with maths at all levels—from essential numeracy to more advanced university-level topics. This includes help with:

  • Basic numeracy and arithmetic
  • Algebra, equations, and functions
  • Calculus (differentiation and integration)
  • Statistics and probability
  • Matrices and linear algebra
  • Complex numbers
  • Quantitative methods used in specific subjects
  • Strengthening general problem-solving skills

Tutors can guide you through your own work and help you build confidence with mathematical methods, but they cannot complete coursework or solve problems for you.

Support is available through regular drop-in sessions in both libraries (no booking required) and through bookable appointments, which can take place in person or online via Teams. All students are welcome, and sessions are free.

You can also access extra support through the Academic Success Team’s Maths and Statistics Canvas course, which includes videos, step-by-step guides, and self-study resources. You can self-enrol at any time.

If you’re unsure where to begin or need help with a specific topic – basic or advanced – come to a drop-in, make a booking, or explore the Canvas resources; tutors are happy to help.
