If the material falls outside of the scope of the Copyright Licensing Agency Higher Education Licence, we will have to apply for copyright clearance. We can do this by:
- Applying directly to the publishers
- Using a third party copyright clearance agency
Once the request details have been submitted, we then have to wait for permission to be granted, which can take six weeks or longer. There may be costs involved and if a cost is prohibitive we will contact you to discuss substituting less expensive articles where possible.
Please note: Some extracts over 50 pages may be refused due to publishers' restrictions.
If the permission fee is acceptable and the copyright clearance is granted we will scan the material and make it available as above.
Where copyright clearance is not granted to digitise the material, it may be possible to deposit a print version in the library for reference use. Should this occur, we will contact you to discuss your options.
