3D Graphics Virtual Desktop
Students on courses that require access to 3D rendering software will also be provided with access to a Virtual Student 3D Graphics Virtual Desktop.
If you believe you should have access to this desktop but cannot see it displayed, please log a call with the Helpdesk to request access with details about your course.
In order to make use of the 3D rendering technology within Virtual Desktop, you will be required to install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client onto your machine.
1. Follow the guidance from this page to download, install and sign in to the correct client for the device you are using. For example select the Windows Desktop client for Windows, or macOS client if you have a Mac device.
2. When prompted to sign in (you will have been asked to Subscribe or Add as part of the previous step) enter your username@ljmu.ac.uk and your LJMU password.
3. Click the Windows 10 icon in the Remote Desktop app.
4. This will launch the Virtual Desktop.
To log off click the Start button in the left hand bottom corner, select Power, Disconnect.
