We have both networked Windows and Mac computers available in our Libraries, the City Campus library, the Mount Pleasant Campus library and at the Student Life Building (SLB). These are equipped with the essential apps you will need whilst at LJMU such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft OneDrive, Teams, SPSS, NVIVO along with many others. We also have Loan Laptops available at SLB, City and Mount Pleasant libraries as well as loan MacBooks from the SLB which you can borrow for up to 7 days.

On the desktop of our computers you will find links to many useful resources such the LJMU website, Email (Outlook), Canvas, LJMU AppPlayer, OneDrive and LJMU HelpMe amongst others. Software on LJMU Windows computers can be located by searching the LJMU AppPlayer - this can be found on the desktop (green square with an arrow). You can search for the software you need and then click to run it. On our Macs you can find software via the Launchpad. All our PCs are connected to your LJMU OneDrive for working with and storing your files.

Some of our PCs are loaded with Specialist Software - these can de identified by the label attached to the screen which will indicated the particular software installed. In the City Campus library and SLB we have number of PCs connected the Computing and Maths network.

Our standard PCs are equipped with at least Intel i5 processors and 8GB RAM. At the the City Campus library and the Digital Studio (SLB) we have a number of high specification PCs equipped with Intel i9 and Xeon Processors with 32GB RAM.

If you need help locating a particular piece of software or have specific hardware requirements please ask at the hub or Contact the Library.
