If you get a certificate error when trying to access Canvas on your Mac device the following steps can resolve the issue. If you try the below and still experience issues please Contact the Library IT Support team for further help.
1. Navigate to https://letsencrypt.org/certificates/
Note: Use a different browser, Firefox, Chrome, or another computer if necessary. If you are downloading the certificate on another computer, you will need a USB drive to transfer the certificate across to the computer with the problem.
2. Scroll down under Active > "ISRG Root X1"
3. Click to download ".pem"
4. Double click the ".pem" file to open in the KeyChain app.
5. Scroll down until you use "ISRG Root X1" and drop and drag to the "System" KeyChain on the top left-hand side corner
6. Enter your administrator password (this is your mac user login password)
7. Click in the "System" on the left-hand side pane.
8. Double click ISRG Root X1." Then, click "Trust" to expand the list.
9. Pull down the top option on "When using this certificate" and select "Always Trust" from the list.
10. Click red X to close the window.
11. Enter your administrator password
12. Restart your Mac and retry to access Canvas on Chrome
