Check these things:

  • Check that your internet is working correctly and there are no issues with your browser.

  • Try an alternative browser.

  • There may be network problems, TurnItIn during busy periods can sometimes hang. TurnItIn status can be checked at turnitin.statuspage.io.

  • Check the file size of your coursework, there is a limit set - usually 20MB.If the file size is over this limit try compressing the file to a PDF.

  • Check the file type you are submitting is correct. The tutor sets the file types that may be submitted.TurnItIn will not accept Publisher files. Word documents can be saved as .DOC and .DOCX files, make sure you are submitting the correct one. PDFs will work fine.

  • If your having problems uploading a file try saving it as a PDF and submitting that.

  • It is not possible to upload from Google Drive or the Drop Box on an LJMU Network PC.

  • Make sure the file you are uploading isn't open, for example: you don't have the document open in Word.

  • Your tutor may allow you to upload once every 24 hours until the deadline date. Alternatively they may set it to only 1 upload, only your tutor can verify or change this setting.

If you are still having problems contact your tutor. If a deadline is approaching and you cannot contact them, then email your work to yourself as an attachment using your LJMU email account. This will provide proof the document was ready and forward this to your tutor.

Help and advice is also available at the Libraries during standard service hours.
